Chinese Democracy Gets 4 Stars!

A couple months ago I made a post questioning the rumored release of Chinese Democracy, the long awaited album from Guns N Roses.

Many of you didn’t believe the album would actually come out. Well, its on its way!

I’ve only heard one song from the new album. I wasn’t too impressed. But I was excited to read the review in the latest issue of Rolling Stone Magazine about Chinese Democracy.

The review is extremely positive and has me even more excited for the release. Below are some highlights from the review.

Let’s get right to it: The first Guns n’ Roses album of new, original songs since the first Bush administration is a great, audacious, unhinged and uncompromising hard-rock record. In other words, it sounds a lot like the Guns n’ Roses you know. At times, it’s the clenched-fist five that made 1987’s perfect storm, Appetite for Destruction; more often, it’s the one sprawled across the maxed-out CDs of 1991’s Use Your Illusion I and II, but here compressed into a convulsive single disc of supershred guitars, orchestral fanfares, hip-hop electronics, metallic tabernacle choirs and Axl Rose’s still-virile, rusted-siren singing.

That is exactly what I wanted to hear… Guns and Roses doing what they do best. Still curious read the entire review.

Not familiar with the greatness that is Guns n Roses? Purchase their Greatest Hits album and get a taste of just how perfect they could be. Or pre-order Chinese Democracy at Best Buy.
